Successful OPRC (IMO) Level 1 Training for Asyad Drydock in Oman

Lamor Middle East recently delivered certified oil spill response training to Asyad Drydock personnel. The course strengthened local preparedness and built vital skills for managing marine pollution incidents safely and efficiently.
In April 2025, Lamor Middle East successfully conducted OPRC (IMO) Level 1 Training in Oman for Asyad Drydock in Duqm. The training was designed to strengthen oil spill preparedness and ensure a high level of safety in marine environmental protection operations.
The course brought together 28 participants from Asyad Drydock, equipping them with essential knowledge and practical skills to effectively manage oil spills and respond to environmental hazards. Certified under the International Maritime Organization’s OPRC framework, the Level 1 training targets frontline responders who play a crucial role in the early stages of an oil spill incident.
Participants engaged in interactive classroom sessions, real-time simulations, and hands-on modelling workshops. These activities provided valuable exposure to desktop exercises and response scenarios, enhancing their capability to respond swiftly and effectively in the event of marine pollution incidents.
This training initiative reflects Lamor’s commitment to building local capacity and supporting its partners in strengthening environmental resilience and operational readiness in line with global standards.
