Lamor leads the way in electric and solar powered OSR equipment

Lamor OSR equipment goes electric

As the demand for environmentally friendly equipment continues to rise, Lamor is taking steps towards electric and solar-powered options. While traditional diesel-hydraulic systems are still necessary for 24/7 independent operation, Lamor has developed electric and solar-operated equipment with fewer maintenance requirements and lower emissions.

Challenge

The demand for clean-energy equipment is growing rapidly, but most OSR equipment still runs on diesel fuel. This poses a challenge for both Lamor and customers as they strive to meet the increasing demand for electrically operated equipment.

The demand for electrically operated equipment has been on the rise. Reasons for this influx in green requests could be for many reasons, but most likely it’s just for the practical reasons this type of equipment can provide. Electric options typically have fewer maintenance requirements and also offer fewer emissions. In locations with electricity available, electrical-driven equipment requires less additional components than a diesel-hydraulic power source. For these reasons, of course having a quiet electrical boom reel on a pier is the more attractive option versus using a noisy diesel unit to power it, but that is an option only if you easily have electricity available.

Solution

Lamor is developing electric and solar-powered equipment to meet the demand for clean-energy solutions. We currently offer some solar-operated units which provide great freedom as there is no need to be connected to an electrical grid. The solar-driven debris conveyors Lamor has built and operated have performed effectively for the applications they were designed for.

Electric and solar-powered systems are becoming more common, and Lamor is at the forefront of these efforts. While traditional diesel-hydraulic equipment is still necessary for 24/7 independent operation, the development of clean-energy equipment is crucial for reducing emissions and meeting the growing demand for environmentally friendly solutions, says Markus Nystedt, Technical Director at Lamor.
