Lamor delivers rapid oil spill response support for vessel operation in Netherlands

Rotterdam Pics 4

When time is tight and environmental safety is on the line, collaboration makes all the difference. In Rotterdam, Lamor delivered and deployed 400 meters of oil containment boom on short notice to support a critical maritime operation.

In May, Lamor was called in by Oudkerk Port agency services to support a time-sensitive operation for their customer to provide oil spill containment for their offshore construction vessel during the removal of its thrusters at the port of Rotterdam.

Although the risk involved only small amounts of biodegradable oil, strict environmental precautions were necessary. Lamor prepared and delivered 400 meters of boom, ensuring full compliance and safe execution of the procedure. The deployment included 350 meters of FOB750, and 75 meters of SFB750 supported by a powerpack, LPP 7 pump and containerized equipment as part of Lamor’s Harbour Package.

Deployment was carried out efficiently with two Lamor operators and the support of Oudkerk and port authorities. Equipment was prepared, transported and deployed on-site the same day. The duration of the rental was for several days, after which Lamor will handle the retrieval and cleaning of the equipment.

This operation highlights the strength of fast, professional response and close coordination between Lamor, Oudkerk and our customer. Together, we ensured that the environment remained protected while critical vessel maintenance stayed on schedule.
