Multimax 50
The MultiMax LAM is a stiff-brush conveyor belt-type oil skimmer designed to recover oil in fast flowing rivers, oil ponds, harbors or as an advancing side sweep skimmer. The conveyor belt consists of three stiff-brush-chains. The brush conveyor can be rotated in both directions. In addition to the patented double-action brush cleaner, this enables several operational modes to comply with stationary or advancing skimming in all oil types from light to extremely heavy viscous oils.
The oleophilic brush conveyor belt separates the oil from the water and lifts it up to the patented specially designed brush cleaner from where the oil is directed to the oil transfer pump. The brush conveyor also brings up ice and debris mixed in the oil to the collection hopper or to an optional debris sump. The collection hopper can also be supplied heated for arctic conditions.
The Multimax 50/3C has a design oil recovery rate of 30 m³/h (132 GPM). During certified capacity tests conducted by Bureau Veritas, a recovery rate of 53.1 m³/h (234 GPM) was achieved.
Usage Areas

Preferred package solution

The preferred package for the most efficient operation of a Lamor Multimax 50 skimmer comprises of a Lamor GTA 50 oil transfer pump, a Lamor Power Pack LPP 58D and Lamor Collapsible Tank LCT TSC 11.4.
The Lamor GTA 50 pump is a multi-purpose submersible Archimedes screw pump with a pumping capacity of 50m³/h. This pump has been designed for use in skimmers and transfer or off-loading pump applications and is able to pump a wide range of liquids ranging from water to the heaviest debris-laden viscous oils.
The special internal geometry of the GTA pump design ensures a gentle pumping action that will not emulsify oily water, and ensures the efficient movement of material through the unit. The pump can also handle solids up to 30mm in diameter and should the pump become clogged, it can be reversed to expel the blockage. The Lamor GTA pump range has been extensively field-tested and has received accreditation from Bureau Veritas certifying their recovery capacities in oils of varying viscosities.
The Lamor Power Pack LPP 58 D is powered by an air cooled Deutz 58.1 kW diesel engine and serves as a multi-purpose power pack designed for the flexible operation of many types of hydraulically operated oil spill clean-up equipment. Equipped with 3 hydraulic circuits, the Lamor LPP 58 D can be used to power multiple equipment e.g. skimmer system and boom winder consecutively.
The LPP 58 D is containerized within a steel frame designed to ensure a good circulation for the air cooled diesel engine. The LPP 58 D is equipped with electric start (spring or hydraulic start optional) and incorporates an easily accessible control panel and hydraulic oil cooler into the framework and spark arrestor as standard.
