Oilaway 12500 (LAOW 12500)
The Oilaway (LAOW) is a special purpose low draft aluminum vessel capable of mobile rapid response to near-shore oil spills. The LAOW can recover spilled oil in both stationary and advancing modes up to a recovery speed of 4 knots. The workboat benefits from hydraulically operated rudders leading to exceptional maneuverability, which is essential for anti-pollution operations in crowded harbors or terminals.
Its design comprises of a rectangular barge type hull with a V-shaped bottom and the recovery channel is placed in the front of the hull. The bow of the vessel is fitted with hydraulically operated bow doors, enabling one operator to effectively deploy its oil recovery system.
The oil recovery vessel is equipped with a 120 m³/h capacity stiff brush technology oil recovery V-belt system, hence giving a high recovery rate for a wide range of oil viscosities. Oil is recovered with less than 5 % water content. The LAOW is equipped with 8 m³ on-board oil storage and 2 m³ garbage storage.
