Lamor Swire Opens Gulf Region OSR Centre

Pressrelease; Dubai, UAE - Lamor Swire Environmental Solutions (LSES), a 50:50 Joint Venture between Lamor Group Ltd (Lamor) and Swire Pacific Offshore Limited (SPO), prepares for the Grand Opening of a Gulf Region Oil Spill Response Centre. The opening will take place October 15th, 2008, in Dubai, UAE. The Depot, located in the Jebel Ali Trade Free Zone, is offering brand new "state of the art" oil spill response equipment packages for regular rental and emergency service.

LSES is establishing strategically located Regional emergency response Depots capable of offering guaranteed, safe, rapid and overlapping access to oil spill protection and combat resources across all three Tiers and both Industry and Government sectors.

The LSES Gulf Region Oil Spill Response centre opens in Dubai this September and serves as a one-stop shop for practical marine spill solutions including training, exercises, equipment and tiered response. It is supported by a proven logistics network and dedicated personnel deployed and trained to combat spills of regional, national and international significance.

By the end of September 2008 the entire stockpile will be ready and primed for regular rental services and for emergency use. The stockpile is the largest, most diverse and modern, compared to any other centralised resource in the Region. For the sake of user ease and maximum efficiency the stockpile has been segmented into 42 stand-alone packages, each of which would satisfy a Tier 1 requirement and if used together could combat either a Tier 2 or even a Tier 3 response.

To ensure that the excellent quality of the equipment is maintained all of the equipment assets have been entered into a state of the art warehouse database management system, which tracks the equipment location by bar code. The system also prompts the planned maintenance checks required. During the first two weeks of September, the equipment is undergoing a rigorous independent commissioning check.

Opening Including Spill Response Seminar and Interactive Demonstrations

Senior Industry & Government executives from across the Gulf Region and beyond have been invited to witness first hand the scope and scale of the new service. The program includes a dinner reception, a half day seminar on marine spill response, ceremonial grand opening and interactive demonstrations of the offshore, near-shore, shore-protection, shore clean-up, ports and marina packages.
