New OSR workboat for shallow waters

Lamor is proud to announce the development of a new 12m workboat which is well suited for shallow water environments. The 12m workboat is constructed from Marine Grade aluminium with a flat bottomed hull resulting in a light ship draft of 0,5m and a recovered oil tank capacity of 12m3. The workboat comes supplied as standard with integrated LAMOR inbuilt oil recovery systems, together with boom reels and marine specification knuckle cranes for oil skimmer deployment. The design principal includes two propulsion versions, one with tunnel propellers or an alternative with jet engines. The LAMOR shallow water workboat is especially suitable in tidal areas such as the Frisian Islands in Western Europe which are separated from the mainland by arrow belts of shallow waters and tidal mud flats. The workboat can help in protecting the island's seaward coasts, beaches and resorts from oil and debris pollution. Bohai Bay in north-eastern China is another example of a shallow sea bay area, with wide mild slope mud beach. Several oil fields are located offshore the Bohai Bay, making it one of the busiest seaways in the world. The new Lamor shallow water workboat allows access to areas where oil spill response operations using traditional workboats is not possible.
